W3C Verifiable Credentials · Zero-Knowledge Proof

Credentialing & Attestation

Prove any credential — degree, license, property title, health record, professional certification, or remote hiring identity — without transmitting the underlying document. The verifier learns only what they need. The holder keeps control of everything else.

One platform. Eight credential types. Every regulated industry.

Prove without transmitting

A ZK attestation answers 'is this credential valid?' without sending the credential itself to the verifier.

Holder controls every share

Credentials live in the holder's vault. No share happens without biometric consent. Nothing leaves the device uninstructed.

Cryptographic, not procedural

The proof is a digital signature — not a phone call, not a manual lookup, not a fax. It cannot be forged or backdated.

How it works

Issue once. Verify anywhere. No document transmitted.

01

Issuer publishes the credential

A university, licensing board, or county recorder issues a W3C Verifiable Credential — cryptographically signed by the issuing authority — into the holder's ArxGate vault.

02

Holder stores it in their vault

The credential lives on the holder's device, encrypted and biometric-locked. The holder controls when and to whom it's shared. No central credential database exists to breach.

03

Verifier sends a request

An employer, lender, or institution sends a credential verification request via ArxGate — through the no-code portal or the API. The holder receives it in the mobile vault app.

04

Proof returned — no document transmitted

The vault generates a ZK attestation: 'the holder holds a valid credential of type X from issuer Y, issued on date Z, not revoked.' The verifier receives the signed proof. No transcript. No document. No original credential transmitted.

Credential types

Every credential type. One platform.

The same zero-knowledge proof architecture that powers income and identity verification works for any credentialed claim. Below are the eight types ArxGate supports — with the specific industries, issuing authorities, and regulatory frameworks each one addresses.

Higher Education

Academic Degrees & Diplomas

Universities issue a W3C Verifiable Credential at graduation, stored in the graduate's vault. An employer scans once and receives: 'degree from X institution, field Y, class of Z, verified by institution' — in seconds. No transcript transmitted. No National Student Clearinghouse 2–5 day wait. Diploma fraud costs employers over $600M annually.

Who verifies: Employers, background screeners, licensing boards, graduate programs
Issuing sources: Universities, community colleges, online programs (WGU, Coursera, edX, ASU)
Regulatory fit: FERPA · eIDAS 2.0 QEAA (EU) · GDPR Art. 5(1)(c)
📜
Licensing & Credentialing

Professional Licenses & Certifications

Medical licenses, bar admissions, financial licenses, engineering stamps, teaching credentials, IT certifications — all issued as tamper-evident verifiable credentials by the relevant board. Employer or hospital scans once: 'License active, jurisdiction confirmed, no disciplinary action.' The board never fields another manual verification call.

Who verifies: Employers, hospitals, law firms, financial institutions, state agencies
Issuing sources: State medical boards, FINRA, bar associations, NASBA, CompTIA, AWS, PMI, NCLEX
Regulatory fit: State licensing law · FCRA (employment screening) · HIPAA (clinical credentialing)

Clinical / Healthcare

Healthcare Provider Credentials

Provider credentialing is one of healthcare's most expensive administrative burdens — hospitals spend $10,000+ per physician re-credentialing every 2 years. ArxGate: the provider's DEA number, board certifications, state license, and malpractice history live in their vault as verifiable credentials. A hospital requests proof; the provider approves in the app; the hospital receives a signed attestation. No paper. No fax. No CAQH.

Who verifies: Hospitals, health systems, group practices, telehealth platforms, insurers, CMS
Issuing sources: State medical boards, DEA, ABMS specialty boards, NPDB (National Practitioner Data Bank)
Regulatory fit: NCQA credentialing standards · CMS Conditions of Participation · HIPAA · Joint Commission

Real Estate

Property Title & Ownership

Property owners upload their deed; Textract extracts and verifies the parcel ID, recorded owner name, and recording date (L3 document-verified). For higher assurance, ArxGate queries county recorder APIs directly — ACRIS (NYC), PropertyRadar, ATTOM Data — for government-verified ownership attestation (L4). Lenders receive 'applicant owns parcel #123-456, no active liens' — signed and timestamped. HELOC and refi applications that took days now close in minutes.

Who verifies: Mortgage lenders (HELOC / refi), title companies, commercial lenders, estate attorneys
Issuing sources: County recorders (ACRIS NYC, PropertyRadar, ATTOM Data, Regrid), deed upload via Textract
Regulatory fit: RESPA · TRID · UCC Article 9 · State recording acts · FIRPTA

Auto & Personal Property

Vehicle Title & Asset Ownership

Vehicle owners store their title in the ArxGate vault. Lenders, insurers, and dealerships request proof of ownership and lien status for a specific VIN — receiving a cryptographic attestation without the owner transmitting the title document. Supports auto lending, fleet management, and titled personal property including watercraft, aircraft, and commercial equipment.

Who verifies: Auto lenders, dealerships, insurers, fleet operators, equipment lessors
Issuing sources: State DMVs, NMVTIS (National Motor Vehicle Title Information System), Textract title upload
Regulatory fit: UCC Article 9 · State title laws · FCRA (auto lending) · GLBA

Healthcare / Benefits

Health & Insurance Credentials

Patients and members prove specific health attributes — immunization status, insurance eligibility, NKDA (No Known Drug Allergies), a specific diagnosis flag, prescription coverage — without transmitting their full clinical record or insurance card. The Epic FHIR R4 connector pulls live data; ArxGate issues a ZK attestation. HIPAA minimum-necessary standard: satisfied by architecture, not by policy.

Who verifies: Employers (benefits), health systems, telehealth, pharmacies, insurers, clinical trials
Issuing sources: Epic FHIR R4 (SMART on FHIR OAuth), health insurers, PBMs, employer benefit administrators
Regulatory fit: HIPAA Privacy Rule · 21st Century Cures Act · GDPR Art. 9 · eIDAS 2.0 health provisions

Testing & Certification

Exam & Assessment Integrity

Contract cheating and exam proxy fraud cost certification bodies millions in remediation annually. ArxGate binds a government-ID-verified biometric to the exam session at start, with randomized mid-exam liveness challenges. Test publishers receive proof: 'the person who completed this exam is the same person whose ID was verified.' No video recording. No screen capture. No AI behavior monitoring — just the identity proof.

Who verifies: Certification bodies, universities, corporate L&D platforms, licensing boards, bar exams
Issuing sources: ArxGate IDV layer + test publisher session bind (Pearson VUE, Prometric, Honorlock, HireVue)
Regulatory fit: FERPA (academic) · IL BIPA (biometric privacy) · GDPR Art. 5(1)(c) · FINRA Rule 1210 · NASBA CBT policy

HR & Employment

Remote Hiring & Anti-Proxy Verification

The FBI issued advisories in 2022 and 2024 about nation-state actors using stolen identities to obtain remote technology jobs, paying local proxies to pass video interviews. ArxGate provides session-scoped identity binding: the same government-ID-verified person must be present at each interview, technical assessment, and onboarding event. Random mid-session challenges catch proxy substitution after the session begins.

Who verifies: Employers, staffing firms, ATS platforms (Greenhouse, iCIMS, Workday), BPO providers
Issuing sources: ArxGate IDV layer + employer ATS integration (session bind + proof per event)
Regulatory fit: FCRA · E-Verify complement (USCIS) · EEOC guidelines · GDPR Art. 9 (biometric) · DOJ identity fraud guidance
